Tutoring one-on-one has always been more rewarding for me because I am able to focus on the student gaining a strong understanding of the subject. I like to make sure the student has a thorough understanding of not only how to solve a problem, but why they took the steps they did in the process. As a graduate student, I taught the lab portion of a general biology class to undergraduates. I continued my teaching overseas, and taught English and science to 6th grade students for three years. I also tutored many students, and found this to be the most rewarding style of teaching for the reasons I stated above.
